Holy crap. That double time is nearly what I make in the week in the GTA. I pull $1500 a week in the GTA at $22 an hour before taxes.

I got an extra 10 hours double because I worked Thanksgiving. I average around $1400 take home a week after I put $200 a week in my RRSP.

Even with a recession coming with current cost of living you really need to find a better company to work for especially if you’re still working 6-7 days a week to make that income at $22 a hr . I bring home $1750-1900 every two weeks after taxes I’ve been looking for better gigs but I’m very selective on who I will work for not putting up with any bs for a few dollars more per hr . I show up to work do my job then go home and that’s how I like it I don’t get any crap from dispatch or anyone else from the company. Unless I find a better job paying atleast $28-$30 a hr and where i’m not forced every day to work 13-14 hrs a day to me 10-12 hrs is more then enough it’s just not worth leaving my current gig for a couple more dollars a hr . I’m coming up to 4 weeks vacation next feb and can’t wait been waiting years to get 4 weeks off and really don’t want to start all over again at another company . Unfortunately the cost of living may force my hand on If I can stay or not .In these times you need to be making a minimum of $25 a hr
