    With the speed limiter coming, I figured I would ask now. I assume it's somehow worked into the abs system? When the truck went into limp mode on the test drive I tried unplugging the transmission speed sensor, but no luck, it still read the speed, and wouldn't go over 5mph.

    Any knowledge on this one? I'm not about to go 60mph unwillingly.

    Go in the ECM and change the rear end ratio/tire RPM

    I'm curious if anyone has the latest version of Volvo Premium Tech Tool and knows if the ability to adjust the road speed is still in the software. I know there was talk of even dealers not being able to adjust the road speed last January after an update.

    I plugged my truck in and adjusted the road speed to maximum and haven't tried to use the software since it begged me to upgrade.

    If you alter your truck to go faster than the speed and they catch you what kind of a ticket are they going to give you for that?

    @nasriza may know.
    If you change the gear or tire rpm. It’s going to show a lot more miles on the odometer. I don’t know what trucks have it, but some have a “drivers reward”. It will give you xx mph for X amount of time.
    The older trucks with two speed sensors will work fine with the gear/tire rpm.

    When all of this came back up a few months ago the FMCSA said it would be up to the carriers to make sure they were in compliance. I wonder how many times you can get caught before it becomes an insurance issue and affects your authority.

    Ever think that the ELD you have in the truck will be required to check the speed of the truck?

    While it is a good thought, this isn't the 2005, they will unfortunetly enforce this because of the drivers from the revolving door of these CDL schools are too STUPID not to speed.

    Or if you install taller tires it will show less miles , and a lower speed than what you’re actually running

    They'll be looking to make some examples of the first ones caught. I think we all know what that means.
