    Should drivers go door to door all night asking other drivers to stop idling? How many idling trucks does it take before a driver wanting to not idle rolls up his windows & idles? If you aren't paying for the fuel you have no right to dictate their idle time.

    I wasn't suggesting anything of sort and they can idle theyre way right into bankruptcy for what I care .

    Not really. Using the HVAC when sitting still uses the same amount of energy in an electric vehicle as an ICE, just in a different manner. There is still maintenance, and the electric bill for recharging those things will be insane! It will cost about 2 kWh/mile to operate in optimal conditions, and closer to 8 kWh/mile in normal operations (stop/go, acceleration, climbing grades, and the regenerative braking isn't all that great)... so at an average of 16 cents per kWh, its still will cost $1.28/mile. I'm not sure about your operation, but ours, at $5/gallon, costs $0.59/mile for fuel. They would have to cut the price of electricity in half for it to be competitive.
    I love hearing the arguments about "no maintenance" of EVs that completely ignore tires, brakes, bearings, rubber components, cooling systems, and the super-expensive battery packs. If that requires replacement every 250,000 miles (the cars average 200k), that will likely be a high-5 to low 6-figure repair bill.
