I understand that and agree. I just think being it’s electric and has wiring it will be a nightmare. Emissions sensors will go away but I assume other types will take their place. Hopefully I’m wrong. I don’t want anyone, even large companies, to be hassled with BS problems. Seen enough the last 15 or so years. Drivers are still being screwed on breakdowns. Both company and O/O.

You arent wrong at all . the electrical gremlins will be a nightmare.. But im just thinking will less sytems thatbwork togrther there may be less troubleshooting and diagnosing when this tech becomes more the norm and have a good service network of knowledgeble people to work on it... I think that is going to be a huge hurdle to overcome... Most of these so called mechanics cant even diagnose basic electrical #### now.. Who knows what its gonna be like when electric cars are everywherecke, Another Canadian driver, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 3 others Thank this.

Yep, could be, or maybe not. I’m just skeptical that the operating cost will be sufficiently less to justify the expensive and limitations. Time will tell the story for sure.AsphaltFarmer, Another Canadian driver, God prefers Diesels and 2 others Thank this.

Reminds me of my brother in laws frack company when they went to electric pumps. It was all very new and practically unknown in the field at the time. He told me the guys names that were promoted to “electric fleet mechanics”. I worked with them and a grease gun wasn’t to be trusted with them lol. Glad I wasn’t involved in the learning process.Blue jeans, Siinman, Another Canadian driver and 2 others Thank this.

Tesla no longer prime mover in electric trucks, as new and old rivals jump on boardAnother Canadian driver and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
No doubt they will be quiet, quick, and leave no exhaust smell, so great for city and urban applications. And if they are anything like a Tesla car there are far fewer moving parts and will require virtually not much more than a brake adjust. On the cars brakes are about it even few years if you use the electric motor to its advantage. Trucks should be the same. However you can buy 4 traditional buzzbomb cars of similar size to Tesla 3 for the price of a Tesla 3, well here in Australia. That's a lot of fuel and servicing, particularly when the servicing is fixed price.
Does anyone know what an electric truck retails for? I'm guessing they will be at least 50% more than a traditional truck. And if your energy is going like ours, the gap is closing pretty fast on diesel as the investment in the energy grid needs paying for its expansion. They make great sense if they cost the same and energy is cheap, but few seem to factor this in.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Moved my truck about 8 feet using the starter one time, does that count…?

People just can't comprehend the strain going all electric is going to cause in the environment. Some one smarter then me has said it best, EV vehicles are no emissions free, all there doing is shifting were the e
.Dixons are produced. And for EV it's in the mining of the cobalt and lithium . The amount of earth moved to produce a passenger vehicle battery is astounding, now probably Triple that for a semi truck battery. And don't even mention the power grids. Lol half the usa has rolling black out already and you want to put blocks, he'll even hoke communities on EVsBlue jeans, The_vett, RefMata and 2 others Thank this.
