Hey everyone just looking for some advice and what to do for my CB radio set up. I have a 97 T600 and I’m pretty much setting a CB up from scratch. I have a galaxy DX 959B. Do you guys have any equipment recommendations as far as antenna and coax cable? If there’s anything else I need please let me know ill most likely be doing it myself. Also I do a lot of driving from New Jersey to Tennessee and I come across a lot of CB radio shops anyone know which one might be the best my route is pretty much 81 and 40. Thanks in advance

first get the radio tested, if it isn't preforming well, get it properly aligned, do not get it peak and tune crap.
then focus on grounds, the mount and coax before an antenna.Another Canadian driver, M22 rockcrusher and Mcast3092 Thank this. -
Hi all. I’m curious about CB. Is it still a standard to have CB in trucks today? Or is it personal preference?
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
It’s a must haveAnother Canadian driver, tscottme, Numb and 1 other person Thank this.

If you do any type of platform “Flatbed” a CB is an absolute must have. I keep mine squelched up so high that only people around me can get my attention. However it is on if I’m loaded. In inclement weather you need it on. You never know, it could save your life.Another Canadian driver, M22 rockcrusher, tscottme and 2 others Thank this.

What can you do with a company truck to improve distance transmitting that can be easily installed and removed if you have to?
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
linear amplifier will boost your transmission distance. Using one makes you an FCC outlaw since I think CB is limited to 4 watts? With a linear you can pump out as many watts as you can afford. But what's the point of getting out 8 miles away when you are only going to hear about 3 miles away. I wouldn't buy an amplifier. Just a good stable CB with quality antennas and coax will do what you need, IMO.Milr72, Diesel Dave, Another Canadian driver and 1 other person Thank this.
