That ball park sure tested my CQ skills since the trailer wasn’t in the actual loading docks. Thankfully it is a new Xtra Lease trailer so everything in working order. Almost had to hand out a Darwin award to an idiot car. Go to make the right turn to get back onto the interstate and the idiot decided to cut in between my trailer and the curb, thankfully I actually pay attention to my mirrors and stopped before crushing the car. Didn’t want to be the first to damage this new trailer.

Got loaded in Fort Lauderdale Monday morning. Load didn’t deliver until Friday in Winchester. I went back to the house for another day then left yesterday morning. Dropped the load at the yard this afternoon. Had new steer tires put on, fuel filters changed then grabbed a load off the yard going to San Francisco. Nice easy trip. Deliver Monday. Wyoming and Donner look good this weekend.

@JohnBoy off topic question, as a fellow Floridian have you noticed on your side of the state an absolute flooding of new residents after the whole covid mess? I don’t truck a lot on your side of the state, but I’m always down in fort Myers and it has become almost unbearable, no lie, it took me 6 hours to get home to Ocala from punta gorda last Friday, it gets me to my last nerve at times. Safe travels.

Dropped the convention load last night in Markham then they bobtailed me to Maquoketa family dollar for an empty this morning then all the way back to Chicagoland area to load. Took two hours since they stacked the rolls of fiber floor to roof front to back. Out of hours and doing a 34 at Hebron Flying J. They said it was ok to drop Sat in Colonial Heights. Good thing I swept the trailer being they rejected the owner op next to me cuz he didn’t sweep his trailer out.

I believe people have been leaving oppressive state governments and migrating to FL much like they have TX. For your sake I hope they don't bring ideas that caused them to leave in the first place.

Been living in this part of Florida since 1980. Every year it seems to get more and more crowded. The true barometer that I use is my wife’s real estate sales. The last 5 years have been off the charts with buyers. The high price of real estate isn’t stopping anyone at all. We had our house built 18 years ago, the traffic around our little oasis is ridiculous. If my wife didn’t mind the cold, I’d be up in north western Montana living a dream.

Anywhere near interstates is a disaster in Florida. We lived in Ocala for years and you couldn't go anywhere near I-75. The coastal areas are a mecca for everyone because they want to be near the beaches. They forget about the hurricanes and look at the disaster from Ian. Even here in Winter Haven there is a surge in new residents. 2 lane county roads are being turned into 4 lane highways to accommodate the increase in traffic. I agree with everyone that we will have to move north to a better area like Tennessee.
