    I just wanted to add another microphone to my collection, came across the Stryker 65. My Ranger 198 switched was acting up so I went back to my RK 56 which I’ve had for about 35 years(replace switch also way back). So, one day I was sitting waiting to get unload(waiting for a crane and making money meanwhile)so I went online to do some searching/reviews on microphones and came across the Stryker. I bought it and only use it once so far. Has anyone tried it or have an opinion on it ? @rabbiporkchop @jessejamesdallas @craig_sez

    Almost bought one once...but by the time I decided to try one, they all disappeared and were sold out just like the Xtream 2018's did.

    I seen where the 2018's are now available again, and bought one...just waiting on the USPS to get it here...Might have to get one of the SR-65's and give it a try, I see they are available again too.

  5. Those 2018 microphones are great sounding on all my radios. Just a little touch of echo gives great audio.

    Exactly, I had a little touch and I mean slightly of echo to get that boxed sound, and had to turn the mic gain down also. Seems it has more power going out from the mic. The comments have been positive from the other end, clear there’re saying. Just don’t like the way it sounds in the talkback. Will see, I might keep it.

    I read that some of the earlier ones had some issues and these newer one are updated. I wouldn’t know. So far the comments from the other end are good.

    I still prefer my 198 but I think if I remember correctly, the switch went out and have been running my RK 56 until I bought the Stryker 65.

    It won't modulate the carrier fully at certain frequencies based on how my radio is tuned. It sounds fine to the ear but performance will suffer

    UPDATE ;
    For some reason, the Stryker 65 started acting up, others couldn’t hear me and said it was coming in and out with a whining noise. So I threw it in the sleeper and hook up my RK 56 that hasn’t let me down in 35 plus years(with the exception for the switch). I’m sending it back. One of the Contractors I haul for has a small fleet and buys those rangers 198 a bunch at a time. I brought a conversation about the Stryker, he got up and went to the warehouse and gave me a brand new 198. So I’m back in business. Still love my RK though.
