Yeah it might be awhile before you need them. But by the time you get to the trailers that do need doubles and triples it might be an everyday thing then for you. Just depends on how your outfit operates.

For us, once you get one, that's your trailer till you upgrade or just get a new one, your old one breaks badly, yours is being retired or refurbed. Or you just switch positions.

Others outfits you might switch around alot more as necessary per the load.

But like they said Doubles and Triples is an easy endorsement. Not really all that much to study, or for tanker either. So you could go ahead knock it out and have it when you do possibly need it.

It might give you an edge having the doubles triples already as well.

Cause if you are in line to be moved to a trailer that needs it and someone more senior to you dosent have it. You might jump the line ahead of someone.

I've seen that happen here........ Cause well I did.

So go ahead and get it, it might open up opportunities quicker. Even if those opportunities are years away.

So, I have taken some of the practice tests on here. Not only is it not too hard, but it is stuff that is being covered in my refresher course as well. I did schedule my tests for Wednesday. I also have a working interview with a crane company Tuesday, and if I get that job on top of hauling the equipment to the worksite, they do OJT to get you up to a crane operator. You start out as a driver/rigger, move to signal man, and then crane operator. Thank you all for the info, as one posted I may not have to wait as long as I thought to get to where I wanted to be.

if you’re like me and you wanna get into heavy haul you’ll need the endorsement. I’ve used mine in the past with some of the LTL companies here in Southern Indiana, only now I’m finding it hard to be hired by the few companies here that require doubles. some here like Yellow have done away with the routes that require it. I e applied for a few H/H’s locality, only haven’t heard back yet, looks like OTR could possibly be in my future ‍♂️
