depends on what sensors u are wanting to read. Best bet is the software made for the engine. Example if its Cummins engine get insite off ebay like $50

 

I have the OTR tool, bought back when it was reasonable priced. It clears codes but not major ones. It gets you down the road and it does clear those ghost codes that don’t come back. It’s been money well invested. But once you get to know your equipment, you want to step it up. Next level is the laptop, and the accessories.

 

ive been using the texa program. not all that they claim it to be. looking for a new option.
