Nick's Hand Made boots Spokane

Never went to Nicks, but i have 2 pair from Franks and will never buy a different boot.

 

Lol... You obviously dont know what goes into a quality hamdmade leather product... I sell good belts for anywhere from $100 to $400. I dont even want to think about what I would have to charge for a pair of boots.

 

It's not the leather, it's the leatherworking. Stitching, buckles, etc. Workmanship.

 

Resoled several times? That's amazing.

 

They have a good reputation with the loggers. Boots, how to break them in and care for them and the subject of which is the best boot, have probably started more bar room fights than anything else.
I like Wescos. My brother won't wear anything but Viberg. We don't fight about it though. We passed through that stage of our personal development about sixty years ago

 

I have a pair of Danners from around 1992. They’re still in excellent condition. If I polish them up I can wear them out somewhere semi casually or I can hike up the side of a mountain in these things. I almost wish they would wear out so I can justify buying a new pair but they won’t. #### things last forever.

The last pair of totally custom built caulks I saw cost almost seven hundred dollars. The guy who wore them said they fit like a glove.
My last pair of Wescos was made on a template they send out...almost custom fit but not quite. They were worth the extra money above buying off the rack. If I remember right I paid about five hundred for them with a spring heel, lace to toe, and a couple of extra caulks on the heel and outside edge.
I put about six seasons on them and had them rebuilt by Wesco. That didn't cost much at all.
Wesco does a fine job.

 

EDIT...Try Kulien's boots in Centralia Washington if you want the absolute best boot and money is no object.

 

Okay. How many times is several? My local shoe shop figures maybe three re-soles on good logging boots and then they have to be rebuilt.
The last pair of Danners I had I wore out in a year, and Danner refused to rebuild them. They said they weren't worth it. I think they were right. They never fit right, the leather was rotting, and the caulks wouldn't ever stay tight.
I made an offering to the Timber Gods and burned them in a warming fire on the landing.
