It means the world to us. All of the prayers and support from everyone.

Our pickup was impounded by the sheriff's dept., so it's gonna be a long few days until we can get new doors and get things secure. Until then, I'll probably be up watching.

 

Call in a marker or two. I am sure you have a few available. Thats what they are for.

 

Gonna call a friend of my wife's tomorrow, her husband is retired but does some handyman work for cash. See what he'll need to help me get some doors in.

It's hard getting my head wrapped around the whole thing. Did I tell y'all the cops were right outside our house looking for him? The more I think about how they were right on top of this guy, twice within a matter of hrs, and failed to capture him. Not so sure how much faith I've got in them to get this guy.

 

That is really surreal.

Trust was broken. Home is sacred. She may not be able to deal with anything while living in that house. You and I can dig in and fortify the house and prepare for WWIII, but the womenfolk deal with things differently.

Trust has to be re established for it to become home. You already know this. Just a reminder in case her moods swings to foul in the next coming months.

Remember the story I told about a guy named Bob and the lady that moved out of NYC? She went 180 after getting mugged. Single woman. Staunchly Democrat, voted Hillary every time she could until she went gun buying and realized that she was not allowed to defend her home or herself. 180 flip. Instantly.

The reason why I bring this up now is because the wife (yours) has changed. Not a 180 flip, but there are changes. Bob was interested in the NewYorker, but was unable to listen.

The goal of listening is to UNDERSTAND, not to respond. When she speaks, just listen.

This is a disgusting world we are now living in. Criminals get to do what they want, and even when law enforcement catches them the judges/prosecutors let them right back out. I am new on the forum and do not know you, but you and your family have my best wishes for a speedy recovery and my prayers for comfort and relief from fear, stress and anger.
