Agreed. We're not always in a position to do what we want to, so we do what we have to do. Unless someone's been in that type situation, they don't/won't get it. You did right. My only thought after hearing your explanation, is that when he left the vehicle, why you didn't use it to run his stupid butt over to stop a fleeing felon...but then again, taking care of your wife was the right first thing to do. Last night, she could not rest. Not until I was watching over her, with gun in hand. I did manage to get a couple hrs myself after the sun came up. That's ok, I will be tired. But she will be safe.

 

It's easy to be a Monday morning quarterback. A few comments on the Sheriff's department Facebook from people about what 'they would have done'. It's odd, they weren’t there, have absolutely no idea how things went down and have never been in a remotely similar situation, but they're Facebook superheroes.

My wife was in the vehicle, my only thought was to get her to safety and she was in desperate need of medical attention. I had the same thoughts afterwards, questioning why I didn't run his sorry ### over. But then I would probably be in jail.

Just had a conversation with the Chief of Deputies, they're hot about this. Several have volunteered extra time without being asked, coming in on their days off to catch this guy. The whole community is furious and wants him caught.

 

You did the right thing! Only thing important is your wife. DO NOT second guess yourself. I would have done the same.

 

dont worry about anybodys opinion or perception of what happened. you guys lived thru it and experienced it... you and mrs crusher are warriors and will get thru this.. just an unbelievable thing to happen to such great people , caused by someone who is less than human. im not sure one can ever prepare for something like that... its always going to catch you off guard.. may god bless both of you and may that scumbag burn in hell
