My second month on the road. I was coming from Utah and was going to deliver to Chico, CA. Trucker Pass took me to the mountains and it was a disaster. Snowstorm, highway patrol, another highway patrol the next day who gave an inspection and cited that I am over 65 feet as if I don’t know. It was on 32 road, then I took 36 and 99 when weather got better, then only delivered. But he gave me this inspection (Did you see the sign?) and to my company if I am not mistaken. He said no tickets, points, or payments, just a truck and trailer length violation. How is that possible? And do you think it would be hard to fight it in court?

Others will chime in on the legalities but don’t just use one item like trucker path

    Get used to using several
I use my cell to get a general idea. Then my gps to see if they agree with each other and if not the. What’s different
Then if in doubt I always double check with my hard copy atlas

This also your story is why my minimum rate into cali is now $125,000 per mile. And yes it goes up the more annoyed i am with their special brand of BS.

Good luck fighting an over length ticket in court when you were on a 65ft road.

My logic is i have a price for ALMOST everything. The higher my price the less i want to do THAT thing. If you STILL want me to do then you better be willing to pay lol.

Its my polite way of saying if i woke up and cali had fallen into the ocean and every living soul died i would count it as a good sign.

Why first officer didn't give me anything, but the other wrote it immediately? Maybe because I'm from Texas

Or maybe because the first officer didn't care. It's typically officer discretion. Wondering why one does something and another doesn't is like trying to understand the human condition. It's just is.

    Or because you weren’t legal.

I ran out there a couple times a week for almost two years with a trailer that wasn’t legal and it all worked fine until the one day I got caught. Hard telling how many cops saw me and either didn’t know or didn’t care but finally one cop decided to measure me. The ticket cost me a whole $137.
