Got pulled into a Colorado weigh station this evening. Was expecting the typical green light but instead got the pull over and come inside sign. He said they see it’s a new authority with no inspection so they wanted to fix that. Took about 25 minutes. Level 2 no violations, no warnings. All in all pretty straightforward.

And Thank you. I have to admit that I lost sleep a few nights ago after I read a post a new driver talked about her first inspection. I think it was 11 warnings and 3 ELD violations and job loss. All I could think about was how I’ll be out of business if my first one goes like that.W923, mjd4277, God prefers Diesels and 4 others Thank this.

As long as your paperwork is in order and you aren't cheating the logs, you won't have any problems with level 3 or 2... level 1 is just a brake stroke check with all the other requirements as level 2 and 3.... Nothing to worry about if you take care of your equipment... 11 warnings and 3 eld violations sounds like that truck and driver has no business being on the road...mjd4277, God prefers Diesels, Kyle G. and 5 others Thank this.

That was someplace in the neighborhood of 120 csa points from a few of the things she mentioned, maybe even more.
Her carrier needed to rent a backhoe to remove the pile of #### in their office when they saw that one.
That's like violations for a fleet of 80 to 100 trucks if they all got inspected.W923, mjd4277, God prefers Diesels and 5 others Thank this. -
I try to keep everything organized and neat. I believe in first impressions. Everything is in sheet protectors in a 3 ring binder. Cab card, Tractor DOT inspection,Insurance, UCR, Trailer registration, trailer DOT inspection, NY, NM, KY and OR paperwork.
Then I have a copy front and back of my CDL, medical certificate, my inspection reports for the last few weeks, and BOL and scale ticket for the load on the trailer. I know it’s probably overkill.GYPSY65, skallagrime, mjd4277 and 5 others Thank this. -
I got pulled in leaving Pueblo at a roadside check a few weeks back, just east of town in a wide Y of the highway.
Lady Trooper walked around the truck and trailer, so i got out to ask if she needed me to do anything.
She said "When was your last level 3?"
"Not sure mam, I've got a sticker on the windah, and papers in my book, let me grab em"
She looked at em, and said "Yep, it been almost a month since your last one. It's about time."
I said "So inspections are like a mortgage? Due every month..."
She told me to leaveOpendeckin, W923, nikmirbre and 7 others Thank this. -
This the best way to be. I am always overkill when it comes to paperwork. Have a 3 ring binder with everything in sheets. mulitable years on everything as well just to show back paperwork if needed for some reason.God prefers Diesels, AgPilot1, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this.
