Been a biker all my life. Always have a garage full of them, some rideable, some projects. I've ridden all 4 corners of north america and back home, except Alaska. Friend and I use to "junker tour" every year. Fly somewhere, buy a cheap bike and ride it home. Was good fun and adventure.
I like looking at these bikes, but as riders they are useless.

Little bit of an ordeal this last week. 2 weeks ago delivering tractors I bumped my leg against a bucket. Didnt break the skin but a large egg size blood blister popped up, I'm now informed a Hematoma. Anyway, It goes away, in a few days so I reset, new turbo, saw my doc for a persistent sinus infection that wont go away. I didnt mention the leg as it was a non issue.
Get to Fayetville sunday for monday delivery and leg is starting to get sore and a little red again. Monday by the time I unload and put the gear away leg is swollen huge and RED. call my doc send him a pic he says I need to get a doc to look at it. Call a local clinic, they dont take my insurance, and I really should go to an er. I call them and they wont tell me if my insurance works with them or not. I have the dog and it's a hot day so leaving the truck idle at walmart while I'm miles away at a hospital wasnt what I wanted to do.
Tuesday am it was worse. No reload yet, decided to just bounce. Was hoping the antibiotics I had for sinus infection would hold it off for me to get home.
Get to scranton area, leg is blowing up. Elevate it for the night and in the am it's a little better. After a friends cajoling I go north 5 hrs to Kingston Ont instead of 15 hrs back to Nova Scotia.
Emerg there gives me iv antibiotics. Well, more like direct injection. Starts an iv line, but no pole or bag, just drives 4 syringes of strong antibiotics straight in. 30 seconds later I'm SOAKED and shivering, and dry heaving into a garbage can. I'm now told that was shock. I get straightened away from that and sent on my way with a script for 10 days of strong antibiotics.
So I'm taking 2 a day of 850mg for sinus
And 4 a day of 500mg for leg.
I'll be cleaned out for sure.
Stay 2 days at a family members place, and then bounce home. $1500 in fuel, no revenue. Oh well. Crap happens.
Apparently a blood blister, or hematoma can go septic if not drained. Whoda thunk it?
The Joy's of old age? Lol

That’s a pretty scary story. Hopefully you got things headed in the right direction now.

So far, I'm home, it seems to be getting a little better. I will go see my doc in the am and he will have a look. If I need more iv antibiotics he will send me I'm sure. Hopefully they wont be "direct Injection", that sucked. They were crazy busy and needed to get the room opened up, I hadn't eaten or drank for 12 hrs.
I was going to post a pic i took for my doc from the morning I was in scranton, but figure nobody needs to see that.

It's difficult, mentally and emotionally more than physically. We will get through it though. We have vowed that we will not allow it to rob us of our home, but it's going to take some time and work.

My wife has an amazing strength. For three days she was unrecognizable from the beating, and she refuses to back down or be ashamed.

I keep watch every night. Lots of time to think, too much time maybe. We are certain though, that if not for grace of God, we would not be alive.

The detective on our case wants us to come back in tomorrow afternoon. I'm don't know why but he said to plan to spend some time. And my SIL and her husband are coming up tomorrow. Hopefully we'll be able to get our new doors installed.

We want to thank everyone for their prayers and support. Some tough days are ahead, but I know that God will see us through.

I apologize if I'm a bit incoherent, I'm very tired but I know you all care and want to know how we are.
