SPN3216, SPN3223, blah blah blah, the sensor is gone.
But I am running and not getting derated at all. I guess the outlet sensor is still picking up low enough emissions even without the inlet sensor doing whatever it's supposed to do. Is this a sustainable enough state of events to run for a few hundred miles?
I want to at least buy the sensor from our local Freightliner so I don't have to eat the core charge. Or better yet... they have this one on Amazon for $179...
Inlet NOx Sensor Replacement for Freightliner DD-15 0101532228. Manufacturer Part Number 0101532228, A0101532228, DDE EA 0101532228 Compatible with Freightliner Cascadia 2012-2022 Engine DD-13 DD-15 https://a.co/d/iupr9PG
I'm kind of tempted honestly, cuz the reman Freightliner one is like $350 + $100 core
Nox Inlet sensor crapped out. Replace right away? Or risk it?

When nox inlet sensor goes bad usually there is no derate. Also if you have ghg17 engine try to remove and clean sensor probe. sometime it start working again correctly.PermanentTourist Thanks this. -
And yeah, no derate is good. But i have noticed that the truck is getting bad mileage and has just gotten vaguely stinky. Kinda worried that i'm doing damage to other stuff by running it with no inlet sensor, especially to the dpf filters n stuff... -
i don't think bad nox sensor would damage engine. bad fuel mileage and stinky exhaust could happen. i would replace that sensor asap. if you engine is ghg17 its about15 min job.

It was a nightmare! But I was stuck on 5mph derate with no way to take off the steps and had no choice.
This time I can actually get the right tools and take off the steps and do it ina civilized manner.armo Thanks this. -
T40 Torx socket. 8 step bolts. 5 minutes for steps. Inlet easier than outlet.
RocketyMan, armo and PermanentTourist Thank this.
