My little sister is a RN of 24 years, I try anymore to not be the one she sees…. Lol

 

Couldnt log back in so i had to make another profile...

 

Mom (85yo) broke her hip last month the ER nurse asked how she did it I said "riding her dirt bike. I'm selling that thing.". Mom, in all her pain, "I WAS NOT DON'T LISTEN TO HIM!!!"

 

Can't beat a fried bologna sandwich. Had one just like yours Thursday night.

On a bun, The G/R tavern in Waldo, Oh is the go.

 

Hope she mends well, sure hate hearing that…

Used to like spam. That gel goo that you have to peel off it, not so much.

 

She's a tough old mule. She's up and around, walks 30min/day per surgeon instructions. 6 week follow-up with the surgeon last Thursday he said excellent and go back to regular routine in another 6 weeks. When it happened she was fighting with me- wanted to just walk it off at first, uh no how 'bout 911.

One thing I learned I'll pass along here- older folks and broken hip 24-48hrs get them into surgery, huge difference in the chances of a good outcome. I put her on a helicopter to the big city and she was under the knife in 36. 48hrs after that she was on her feet to transfer to the rehab center. Incredible what they can do now.

 

She's peeved she has to cut down on her Karate fighting. She's wicked fast with that hurri-cane.

 

My dad and mom used to put mayonnaise on the sandwich. Yuck! Guess it was a Jersey thing. Yup I am from Jersey. Totowa right beside Paterson, that's why we moved to western Pa.
