Help me secure this load!

For what it's worth, that's probably how I would have done it too.

 

Well I've never hauled any copper like that. I'm only offering my thought. Im hear to learn also.

 

I never have hauled it like that. Palletizing from the smelter in Magna, UT, wire from some places, but never slit copper coils.

 

Some of this stuff has very specific ways they want it secured but that the warehouse guy didn’t say anything is sorta unprofessional

 

Especially on copper coils

 

I guess that’s the way I’d secure the load. I’d add a trip chain to the first rack second hole, pulling back. The coils appear to set down in the racks, so, yeah, I’d be comfortable with that load. Drive the load accordingly.

 

I did a load a few weeks ago that I couldn’t deliver until the first of the month when the spot price was set. The receiver said when the paperwork came through that morning they paid $620k. Luckily walking off with 24 tons of nickel isn’t easy.

 

Yeah but consider how many amateur drivers would just take the lift drivers advice, toss the straps on real quick and just roll, you mentioned 250 miles, some prob wouldn't even bother to check the straps. And they've gotten there just fine.

Being a higher value load, if they had any issues being shipped, higher ups would actually make sure the lift drivers loaded it proper, I agree that it should be loaded the opposite way.
