Wesley here. i downgraded my CDL to a class c about 2 months ago . I held it 30yrs kept getting sick they eventually placed a medical restriction on it which allows me to drive only in the state of CA ,which made it impossible to get any job ,due to loads coming from out state . i now want to get it back do i start over?? how i go about doing that??/

That’s a big state
And I’m sure there’s plenty of local and short haul companies and drivers that never leave the state .
I’ve never heard of a in state medical restriction .Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

You need to check out the CDL rules for California and see if they will let you get it back after 2 months. Otherwise, you are going to have to start over! Sorry!
Another Canadian driver and Chinatown Thank this. -
I think what the OP is saying is he had to self certify to keep the CDL without a medical card.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

You’re right

Move to another state.
Another Canadian driver, Newtrucker2019 and lual Thank this. -
Colorado has the same type of regs. I drove oversize for 40 years and had an accident down in New Mexico that left me blind on my port side. No med card cause of vision and the state pulled my Class A license. They have a special use permit which allows me to operate class 8 intrastate but not interstate. They must think I'm too dangerous to be run'in over folks around the country cause of my injury--- but its O.K. to do it in Colorado.
Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
