I have no words for the anger I feel about this!

The rule about not talking about it has led to people not knowing what it is.

It should be taught in school, and people should be able to talk about it in trial/jury deliberations.

That being said, the informant in this story should fry.

 

It was taught in school at least when I went to high school. The school district where I lived required 1 semester of civics classes for high school graduation. One of those classes was law,where students not only learned about the justice system but there was also a mock trial held in class and we also sat in on a real trial (in my case we sat in on a murder trial being held at the Kane County Judicial Center in Geneva,Illinois).

Jury nullification is BS because it puts the law, not the defendant, on trial. The defendant deserves a fair trial and representation by competent counsel, period.

If a lawyer is busy trying to convince the jury how lousy the law is then he/she is not devoting his/her full attention to punching holes in the prosecution's arguments.

If you wish to change a law, write your representatives, start a public awareness campaign, organize a protest, or donate to or volunteer with a group that is already working to make the changes you desire. But do not let the issue distract from ensuring that the defendant enjoys a fair trial.

I didn't write reply correct. I agree with article and you. What I mean is how others reject these events and evidences.
