I can imagine having a shop , several trucks , payrolls , equipment payments , diesel pricing ... i think its pretty tough , best of luck to you . I am only 2 trucks operation without any truck/trailer payments or overhead and i am about to let the driver go after 3 years ( still thinking ) , but he is really trashing equipment and his maintenance is triple compared to mine . Being an o/o is still ok for me , but i run hard for 2-3 months and after go for vacations . This year so far miami/vegas/iceland/russia/maldives ... No personal debt except mortgage

Choo Choo Choo full steam ahead :D

Not doing bad overall, could be a lot worse. Some slow weeks and other weeks run hard 5-6 days a week. Get it while it's still there

That's never good having a driver with no respect for your equipment

    Yessir!

No, but I wanted a fresh poll to see how much things have shifted. Oh, and we gotta keep up 1 new thread per day on the subject. :)

At first reading your reply I was thinking you’re crazy to let a 3 yr driver go but if the person continually is tearing up equipment with no improvement then you don’t have a whole lot of choice. Especially with low rates to where it’s not even worth it on the greater good aspect. Maybe find a new driver and cut that one loose when the new one is ready.

That vacation list is impressive! I’d like to make vacation a bigger priority myself. Going to florida for 4 or 5 days, once per year doesn’t cut it.

Choo Choo! lmao love it man. When things do turn back good, your new found efficiency will put even more in your pocket then ever before. Sometimes bad times are good.
