I love how trucking companies always seem to explode Enron style

 

I would’ve left in July when they started closing stuff down and laying off 100’s . If I had to guess most drivers weren’t surprised at the news .. Terrible time for a layoff with many companies having a hiring freeze or just training rookies for cheaper labor

Yep. Don't ever f### with rich peoples' money. It's OK to screw the workers out of their last paychecks, though.

 

I’ll be curious to hear about the actual cause of the closing. Are furniture sales that far off? Did they lose a big account? Are the import suppliers hurting them this bad?

The furniture stores around here are usually packed, on the weekends.

best to jump a sinking ship, before the life rafts run out of room, or leak worse than the sinking ship.

there isn't any more employer loyalty to thier employee's. it's all a numbers game, and each employee, is NOTHING but a number.

as long as the owner(s) , CEO's and other alphabet soup board members get thier gigantic guaranteed payouts, they could give two flips about the REAL backbone of the company and the people that made all those owner(s) board members rich.

i too long, long ago, went thru some BS with a company suddenly closing, and THAT caught me by surprise (i was very young, and didn't know any better), but i learnt a very valuable lesson back then...

"Buddy", i said to myself, "screw company loyalty, i'm gonna take care of ME FIRST"......
and that how i rolled till the day i retired.
