    rest area on i17.
picked this load up in otay Mesa ca..
noticed a flat tire so drove to the terminal to get fixed.
after being there for 2 hrs. replaced 5 tires, one hub, and a set of brake pads.
hub was broken in 2 and looked like someone used a saw to split hub.
    glad the .echanic saw it.
meeting other driver in Lupton az and this is how far I got last nite.
should make it back to lake ha esu exit tonite and tcalload in jv terminal tomorrow.
no plans for Thanksgiving. so didn't mind doing this run
other jurupa drive refused this load since he wanted to get home for it.

    Moosetek13 Thanks this.

    Altoona, IA at the J.

The first pplan was countered with times that Amazon would not like, because I really didn't like the skinny time for the load.
The next pplan was going to NJ, and it wasn't allowed to t-call. Turned it down because it's nowhere near GLR.
Spoke to my DM after that. He said he would message the planner to keep me moving.
Third pplan was going to Allentown, PA.
So I called my DM again.
He was on with the planner and was told that the only available loads were out east or one to CO.
I asked him to ask the planner to send me the CO pplan.
CO is a lot easier to find my way back to GLR than PA or NJ, or even Columbus if I t-called the PA load.

So I got the load to Aurora, CO.
Most of them deliver on Sunday (the NJ load didn't deliver until Monday, so next weeks pay period), so rather short miles through the holiday.
Still, I'll be moving and at least have a fair paycheck next week.

A week or so ago a message came in.

    The safety scores came out.
My terminal, Menasha, is number 1 in our region for safety.
It is number 3 company wide.

    Scottsbluff, NE.

Winter weather here so I am shut down for the day.

I got here yesterday afternoon for a pickup this morning. There was plenty of warning for the snow moving in overnight, and it did not disappoint.
It was only 1.2 miles to the shipper from the truck stop, all flat and slow, so it was no problem.
The shipper was surprised to see me. They did not expect any trucks to make it in today.
After loading I came right back here. The roads were pretty bad in any direction out of town.

I really lucked out with an accessible grocery store because I needed supplies badly.

Now I'm headed to TN... SO far out of my region. Near Knoxville, an area I am not fond of.
Hopefully I can get a load out of there back to the GLR area.
I had the option of t-calling the load along the way, but it is good miles and my DM was OK with me taking it all the way.

The shipper surprised me as well.
I was told to bring in a very clean trailer or it would be rejected.
It wasn't clean enough, and 2 people started to sweep out the dust.
I went in and took the broom away from one of them, and he objected a bit. The broom stayed with me.
I was shocked that the shipper didn't even ask me to do it, but went in to do it themselves.
    Nice people there.

    jurupa terminal.
last Tuesday trip I ended up getting back here to jurupa around 11 am Thanksgiving day.
    no 2nd trip of course.
ended up going to beaver ut on the weekend trip. made it back to misquite NV for my 10. Saturday night. about 5 hrs away normally.
took me almost 8 hrs to get here Sunday due to everyone going home from the holiday.
had a load for today's trip to beaver ut but some $%&@$ in Denver took both mine and my relay driver and gave it to the other drivers. boitched to my dl a few times about it today.
wasn't my fault the other jurupa driver refused the first trip and took Thurs. and Friday off.
so I ended up picking up a load on Redlands ca and delivered it to Ross DC on Shafter ca.
then went down the street to target DC and picked up a load there. where I tcalled it herevin jv terminal.
since it's so late.. gonna spend the nite in truck instead of going home.
doing another Chino ca to Shafter ca trip tomorrow. no load back yet

    Moosetek13 and dwells40 Thank this.

    jurupa valley at home.
was able to do a beaver run. delivered it to him around 9pm and drove back to weigh station in st George UT so I could miss the incoming snow.
then tcalled load here in the terminal. . next load is a 0930 live load in rialto ca tomorrow.
and this will be my last run on this jurupa to beaver relay.
starting Tuesday I will be on the local fleet out of jurupa terminal.
Tuesday to Saturday start time around 6am depending load. 21.50 hr.
a little pay cut but don't have to deal with another driver or snow lol.

    dwells40 and Moosetek13 Thank this.

Just got the word - I am #1 for idle time. Top of the list, highest idle time.
Yup, it has been a bit cold lately.

My DM asked if I had a working bunk heater, and I told him I didn't have a bunk heater. The truck didn't come with one.
I had requested one be installed when I had the B-service done in Gary and was told they don't have them in stock. Ask Phoenix about it.
    Parts shortage due to Covid.

Turns out there are no terminals that have bunk heaters in stock, so I am on a list.

I am also free to idle my truck as needed.
(Well, within the restraints of the normal idle shut off that is.)

    dptrucker and dwells40 Thank this.

    jurupa terminal.
after I got done yesterday I walked around looking for an Mt in the yard.
saw a trailer with a seal but no lock from security gate.(guard puts one on all loaded trailers) and no bol in box.
so call my dl and said driver truck was in shop status and he was on hometime.
told my dl I pounded on side of trailer and sounded empty. he said it was empty I he said I could break the seal.
    was empty.
so now I got a Mt for my 1 st load.
he probably doesn't know that if you drop an Mt in the Mt lot and go home.. that you get credited and can get one out of there when you get back
