    Hello all,

    I've been working on a 2013 crane that has an ISX12 power plant in it and have been having a lot of issues trying to figure out what could finally fix the issues that it has been having..

    Before going in to detail, when we got this crane back from a shop (after being gone for a year), I was advised to start working on it. It has been deleted and apparently has always ran rough since we got this into our fleet, but I started after it had been sent to a shop to repair the transmission.

    In any case, I'm not sure what was done during the deletion process and/or where the tune came from. My employer was able to get an outfit from Canada to remote in and re-tune it.

    The codes that it is giving frequently are:

    1943: Ambient air density. Valid data, but below normal operation range;
    2346: Inlet exhaust gases temperature in the turbocharger (calculated);
    2322: Camshaft signal fault

    Now, a coworker of mine has went through and changed almost every single sensor the is engine related. I would say it could be wiring or a connection at the ECM, but I want to try to rule everything else out before I tear into it too much, being as I would have to remove a substantial amount of things to get to said ECM. A few coworkers think it may be a can-bus issue, but I'm not getting and can-bus codes or issues with a change in ohms on the can low or high sides.

    Just curious, has anyone else ever ran into this issue with a tune, and/or with a deleted cummins before? The operator claims that it will run great most times in the morning, but after he leaves a jobsite it will run like garbage for the rest of the day, whereas there are some days it just runs badly or runs great all day. I am going to test the CAC system for leaks, Friday and see if I can locate an issue there.

    Any insight that anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

    Have a good Thanksgiving everyone!

    You need to troubleshoot the codes that you have right now that is active or intermittent active.
    But looks lik you are having wiring issues. Find troubleshooting tree for those codes.
    Need to see if there is any software ware updates.

    We've been troubleshooting each of the issues. The software was updated when the other company did the tune. But, I will be doing a pressure test of the CAC system today. Strangely, the the codes point to either a leak in the CAC system, or to wiring. But, we will know more later today.

    This post is also for future reference in case anybody else runs into this issue, being as it is mind-boggling and pretty interesting [to me, anyway].
