Hauling two cars isn’t a money maker.

First I’d like to point out that you would make more money just by moving out of Florida. I know this sounds extreme but there’s better places to live that will save you enough money to literally cover a mortgage.

I also love flatbed and want to get into it again but I run spot market freight and reefer pays top dollar every time every lane I look at from where I live (Texas).

That’s exactly what I did. My current housing costs are ~50% of what they were, down there. Likewise, my utilities and insurance dropped. Now, I’m planning to buy a house, which wasn’t even a thought in FL. Lastly, the midwest people are nicer.

I have a kid and an ex. I can give up the kid and make so much cash I can fashion $100 bills into a noose and hang myself like a bad father should. You get my point.

Stuck within 50 miles of where I live, if I wish to have my kiddo half the time.

    Totally get it.

In the 90’s, I paid $1283/mo, plus had to provide health insurance for my child. Unfortunately, providing that health insurance meant I had to pay for the family plan. Plus, I got stuck with her CC debt I didn’t know about. She cleared out everything in the house, while I was gone that week. I sold what I had left, ended up living in a nasty apartment, and bought a $700 car, which I had to make payments on. Things got rough, man. Hang in there!
