Traditional deep dish, as in Chicago?

So I'll tell you. It may not be "traditional," but Pequod's does the best pizza in town. It's more pan style than true deep dish, but it's the TRUTH. And the blackened edges may seem a little weird at first, but...eventually it becomes everyone's favorite part.

And it's VERY good. There's a lot of good pizza everywhere. Barraco's and Vito & Nick's for thin crust, Beggar's and Pequod's for pan, maybe...I dunno...Pizzeria Duo and a strong Lou Malnati's franchise for "true" deep dish?

Yeah, there is a lot of great pizza.

    ducnut and JonJon78 Thank this.

Lol I do alright. But even if you WERE spying on me, you'd watch me working on the house, playing with my dogs, and gaming late at night on the weekends. Lol

I once stopped for fuel at the Pearl Mississippi fish hook. I was in a hurry and did not park. I just pulled forward ran inside real quick got two slices of pizza, a honey bun, and a diet coke. I was somewhere near Ruston La when I was forced to stop. I won't get into details but it would be safe to say the demon in the movie "The Exorcist" was a distant 2nd to me that night. I was on my way to east Texas for a 4 AM Appt and while I made it I had to call our midnight dispatch and notify them I was going to the ER at the UT Medical center near Tyler. The final was really good people that helped me get there and allowed me to park my truck. To this day I blame that pizza. It's interesting that @REO6205 brought up Mexican. I had almost the same to happen to me eating Mexican off the menu at a small truck stop near Teaque Texas on I 45.

The hook pizza is like other have said, ‘hit or miss’. I never had gastrointestinal issue with it, although I wish the crust was bit more ‘crusty’.
