I’m going out to work in East texas next week and I’d like to know where are the loaders at for pneumatic frac sand? For instance I know west texas has Kermit, monahans for black mountain, us silica etc. what are the plant names and locations out in East texas? Also once loaded which direction are you mostly heading to the wells. Again, with west texas the runs usually headed up towards Pecos, Jal NM, orla, etc. I want to know this because I’m trying to strategically move with my wife to the area and I want to be close to where the action is. I made the mistake of moving to Odessa to try to be home when I worked in west texas. In hindsight I should’ve moved to Kermit or monahans. I didn’t know anything about it. So I’m just looking for a little insight on East texas loading locations.

Why are you leaving W. Texas? I haul oil here and dig it. Actually came here from Texarkana, roundabout the place you’re headed. Liked Naaman’s barbecue there but that was about it.

I’ve been out of west texas since 2020, I just want to give East texas a go. The job I’m starting with put together a pretty sweet deal for me. Just trying to get a layout of where the loaders are in EAst texas and where most of the wells are.

It's been a few years since i ran sand in that area. The company i worked for (Silverline/Rockwater Energy) pulled sand for EOG. We would load out of Refugio (pronounced re fur e o ). The rail yard was on the north side of town and it was pretty big. As long as there was no line you were in and out fast. Sometimes we loaded out of Pleasanton at the Chalk Mountain yard. If it's still like it was years ago there are probably dozens of places to load out in south Texas. If they ever send you to the ports in San Antonio you will be there a while. There were many spots to park and do a 10 if you need to though. I'm curios how busy it is down there though. Hope this helps some.

they used to load sand directly from railcars at a siding in Cresson, Tx. Junction of U.S. 377 and Tx 171. Don't know if they still do.
