Last year I got 2018 LT625 sleeper from dealer and he did Inspection that passed.
20 days ago I got another yearly Inspection from TA and truck passed.
2 nights ago I got violation for that light from state trooper in Texas. This white led strip of light is always on. This light is always on since I bought truck
He says that is reverse light and it should not be running all the time.
Does anyone has the same lights and can tell me are those lights on all the time ?
Pic is attached
Reverse light or license plate light ?

Reverse lights. Just clip the wire, they're not a requirement.
License plate light must shine down, not outmslashbar Thanks this. -

Super-glue a piece of red plastic over it.

Don’t cut the wire, find the issue, either wired incorrectly or corrosion somewhere

Those are reverse lights. They are absolutely required. They should not be on. The problem is the reverse light sensor. Basically when you put it in reverse a piece of metal pushes down a ball that completes the circuit to turn on the reverse lights. I replaced mine and it was about $25 on a peterbilt.
