Amazing how you can put a log on a log bolster, chock it on one side, twist it over a little with a cant hook and kick one up tight on the near side. It then sits there in a snugged up cradle. That is what gas stoves with easily reached pilot lights are for. Need to fuel the fire if not enough raw material if available, more dependable.
For long distance operation, it is hard to beat a blown out pilot light, and pre measured candle. Don't drag leaving if there is a gas water heater close.
Can be in a Kiwanis meeting down town when it goes up.

 

Get some fresh... Rub it up under you chin/throat (what momma called your goozle) then loosely wrap a baby diaper or thin dishtowel around you neck like a scarf. This will gently treat you to Vicks inhalation all night and easily cleaned in the AM.
