Hello, long time lurker here! Would someone mind suggesting me with companies in the Dallas / Ft Worth area who train for CDLs? (Preferably with some kind of payment during training, however not a deal breaker). I applied for kllm and the recruiter says I should be assigned a class when there's an opening, which is looking like mid January. But since I haven't signed anything, I would like to keep looking hoping I can find something sooner. I have 0 experience, no permit, but I have a good mvr and background. I was interested in millis transfer, western dairy, and Wilson logistics because they all have good reviews, pay during training, and some pay for travel and lodging. BUT you need to already have your permit to be enrolled. I'm not sure if it's like this everywhere, but here in Dallas you need to make an appointment at the DMV to test for your CDL permit and every driver's license office in a 2 hour radius is booked until Feb - March. So I can't go get my permit on my own. And lastly, raiders express in ft worth seems to always have availability for CDL training but I see nothing but negative remarks about their mph restrictions and pay. Thanks for all the help you guys provide!

Ignore the 62 mph trucks at Raider Express. 62 or 70 mph. your weekly pay will be the same. I know this from experience.
So, yeah, that's a good option.

Of those you listed, I'd put Western Dairy Transport as a first choice and Wilson Logistics (refrigerated division) as a second choice.

Unless it's changed, Roehl Transport has a terminal & school in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Pays all expenses plus $616.00 a week while in cdl school. Even if you're sent to a Roehl school in another state; all expenses are paid.
Ask for refrigerated division; this way, a recession/depression won't affect you.

KLLM and FFE are both good choices also and both train in Dallas. They're both refrigerated trucking.
    KLLM owns FFE.

I would go with raiders express or stephens if you need in a class earlier than kllm can get you in. Part of your issue is you are coming up on Christmas and that will throw a wrench in your training but still doable

I wish I could, I can't get a permit for awhile because the DMV is booked. I may have to wait a few months then go to the better companies with a permit in hand. I just wanted to get started you know?
