Yes my first thought when I read the original thread was why would anyone do it? Driver is more worried about will he be able to get another job driving, rather than whose life he may have been endangering while driving under the influence. Not one to judge bud, but seriously if your going to use then chose another profession.

He smoked a joint (which is legal in most states) while he was off work with some friends. He didn't endanger anyone.

People complain about archaic laws born out of corruption and greed on threads about people getting punished for breaking said archaic laws born out of corruption and greed?? I'm shocked! People really should just do as they're told by the government without issue and not question any of it! :)

Heart breaking. But glad you owner up to the choice and are making steps to correct it.

I stay away from the stuff as well and have never used. But the stoner crowd seems to be much cooler and relax to at least hang out with. It's usually the other sober/clean folks I end up getting into it with:confused:

Smoking a now legal natural substance on your time off of work and you can lose your career over it.

It should be treated like alcohol.
You can do it at home but not when working.
That would make sense but it's trucking so nothing makes sense.

I disagree! It’s not legal across the country and our CDL is still under Federal regulation no matter the state you live in. Simply put if you agree with legalization contact your federal representatives and voice your concerns.

My question, if the feds were to legalize it nationwide then becomes can we trust that all those who broke the law by smoking it for the last how many years could be trusted to not smoke it while driving without accurate testing methods that would be effective at pinpointing the level of its effects if driving while under influence?

We already have highways clogged with bad drivers can we really tolerate them being stoned behind the wheel with basically almost no chance of keeping most from doing it.

A kidney stone saved my life from bladder cancer, had I not been rushed to the hospital and a CT scan performed, they would never have found the mass that turned out to be cancerous. As my kidney Dr. joked, as painful as that kidney stone was, it saved my life, otherwise, it might have been stage 3 or 4 before they would have caught it, and that would have lead to even more complications and problems. You hate that heart attack, but in the end, that heart attack saved your life.
