    @Pens4Stanley --

    The Crossword Trucker (posts #13 & #20 above, mainly) is right.....:confused:

    New Mexico IS a tough state--for truckers. :(

    All the job ads that I see for Western Dairy Tranport are for positions in Texas, Utah....or Idaho. :oops:

    You can go ahead and give them a try (nothing ventured, nothing gained)--but if NM is your goal, you may have to go with Dot Transportation, instead.

    Of the suggestions that Chinatown has made (all good :thumbup:)--these two above I would bet....are the best--for your situation.

    What did Western Dairy Transport have to say? Is there a facility in Portales?

    There’s quite a few locations, but they aren’t interested since I’m in Pennsylvania. Lol

    OK, I was sure they have a facility in Portales, NM.
    Anyway, if that's your dream, try to move as soon as possible. That may increase your lifespan because you're where you want to be and no longer stressed about it.

    Rent looks cheap in Portales. Apartments.com is a good site and can search for any town or city you're interested in.

    Stay on Budget

    There are several local/regional jobs in and around Aztec and Farmington, NM, which is a few hours north of ABQ. You get the desert mountain climate but your are only an hour away from Durango, CO which gives you an option for high altitude mountain sports.
