    A variation on sales:
Man bought a salvage rail car of toothbrushes, cheap. Put help wanted sign in window of office. Secretary came back and told him an applicant was there.
Further said he seems a little dense and stutters, might not be worth seeing. Man said send him in we will see.
Deal was, briefcase full of toothbrushes, 100 count. Hit the street and sell, come back with $100.00, we split 50/50, you get more , repeat.
So the guy leaves, in hour and a half he is back, briefcase empty, had the money, needed more product, had to get back out there...
So this goes on and all are sold and the stutterer stays on doing real well with various other products, but man always remembers this.

There come a state wide sale convention, man decides to send his man. Knows he is good, gonna show off a little on the toothbrush caper.
Comes the presentation, has to do a sales demo. So the stutterer gets up, says it simply to sell toothbrushes. Another leading salesman ask how.
Stutterer says it simple, all you need is some chips and some dip. Leading salesman asks him to repeat, not clear on this method. Stutterer is a
little hot about being questioned, so he expounds...
You go to a corner, you set up a card table with some dip and some chips. Man/woman comes around corner, You say "Hi, ya want a little dip.
Most will say, "Why yes, I will". They take a scoop of dip on a chip and try it. They spit, make a face and say: "This tastes like ####".
You say "It is, ya wanna buy a toothbrush?"

Just the way it was then. Shows Skillet there will always be opportunity in material handling, as no one like to work any more. And forklifts break.
Techs mantra: They do not get well by themselves".

Once apon a time, back in the early 2000s my bride (who is an attorney) represented a forklift mechanic who happened to become the number one dead-beat dad for child support in the State of Texas. He made good money, but he actually inherited a very large inheritance from someone who he only knew as the person whom he inherited the money from as Aunt Meme. My bride spent a lot of time and money and found the person who he knew as Aunt Meme. She negotiated a settlement to cover the past due child support and he was relived of the past due amount. I bought the 8 forklifts he has owned as the fee to represent him, and it was a very good year.

Most people do not understand the forklift business as it it practiced.

I buy a machine for $1200,00, used truck the dealer only offered owner.$800 in trade. I steam clean it, put on a set of tires, new current seat and belt.
Any other little knobs, bulbs, and tighten up any looseness, say $500.00 I rent it out for enough to recover my costs (purchase + refurbish).
By now, it has been used by several different people and still engine, trans, hydraulics have shown no problems. Offer with a 30 day warranty.
For $4800.00. 4 times purchase price. The basis is, what I paid for it (and sometimes potential buyers know) has absolutely no bearing on what I am
selling it for. It is a ?? capacity forklift, cranks, runs, lifts and tilts. (definition of a lift truck). Does the same job as a new 18K one. What is to worry?

The one load of Christmas trees I hauled got a few tiny branches for the cats when I was driving Casper.

    They were remarkably un-excited.

But the truck did smell very Christmasy.

Mom used to make something she called "Hamburger Soup."

The old man loved it, was my least favorite.
