Hello to y’all guys and girl. Yesterday my truck started purging constantly. Air tank kept going passed 120 purged and dropped to 119 then repeat every 30 seconds. I’m on a time sensitive load. What can it be.? The purge valve is not leaking and I can’t find no leakes. I drained my air tank and had some oil in it

Also last night I stopped to look for the problem the started working normal. Now this morning started again. It’s 29 degrees here ‍♂️ Any clues. Can I bypass can I make it home 2200 miles to fix?

As long as the system does not have a leak( p. Brakes released and brakes applied) and it built pressure 120-125 you can make it. Probably it’s the unloader valve inside the air compressor is stuck. It keep the compressor working constantly.

    Make, model and year truck?

I'd guess a leak in the signal line between dryer and compressor. It tells the compressor when to load and unload. If it has a leak the compressor will cycle on and off constantly.
Not really gonna hurt anything to run that way. Might take a few miles off compressor

It happened to me. It was leaking from the fitting on Air dryer in cold ND weather.

You are correct, did not think about air governor mounted to the air dryer.

We had an issue with one of our trucks with an AD-9 dryer. It was purging every 10 seconds. There is a little plastic check valve with an o-ring on it behind the fitting coming from the governor, lubed it up and replaced the o-ring and it has been fine.

Air leak somewhere, check valve, purge valve, governor, air dryer filter, could be anyone of those, shouldn't be anything major.

If it's holding air, you are good to keep going, get it fixed just before you feel like driving off a bridge due to the constant annoying purge
