Today he didn't endanger anyone, what about the next time? Today he smoked it while on a 34, maybe next time he smokes it while on a 10. Maybe he was driving just fine and is involved in a not at fault fatal accident, which by law requires him to get a drug screen, he fails that drug screen, that not at fault crash, has now been twisted sideways, and some ambulance chaser is seeing $$$$$$$$ payouts for the other parties family, and even if there isn't a $$$$$$$ payout, the trucking company is now going to spend hundreds of thousands in legal fees to defend themselves.
####ed up, now what?

Does this change how you look at it? Because it's the exact same thing.....
Nothing wrong with smoking marijuana once the federal regulations laws finally catch up with state law. (And a current THC intoxication test is created)bryan21384, DRTDEVL, LtlAnonymous and 3 others Thank this. -
BINGO, Thanks for saving me from having to type it out myself.

I'm sure the time will come when the FMCSA changes their position on pot use. But first there will have to be a standard set for marijuana intoxication levels. Like how much is too much. Like the 0.04/0.08 % BAC is for alcohol. Then there will have to be a cheap, quick, accurate and accepted way to roadside test for it. Until those things happen nationwide, nothing is going to change.

Again, I don't hang out with the people I work with. Work and everyone associated with it stays at work. I don't smoke it and never will. Doesn't mean I'm going to turn into a DEA brown-noser(people who wanted to be cops but couldn't get in for whatever reason) and snitch other people out over it.
And besides, some of us are capable of being completely incompetent and lazy without the aid of substances.bryan21384, tscottme, jaffles and 3 others Thank this. -

Nope, doesn't change a thing. I know people who've gotten passed out drunk over the course of a weekend, taken a random on Monday and failed for alcohol. It's a misconception that all alcohol is out of your system in a short period of time. I have zero sympathy for those that can't follow the basic rules, but, McD's is hiring and doesn't require a drug test.

There is a limit, .03%, read up on the CBD ruling by DOT that I posted earlier in this thread. There are quite a few airline workers who've lost their jobs because of CBD products.

That would be a nightmare job. Youngsters getting fed up after a couple of days and no-call/no-show. An older hire would probably be in the back of a cage after a few shifts.
Case in point, stay off the substances and go break stuff after shift to get the jollies off.striker Thanks this. -
Most janitorial companies don't require drug screens. But, exactly, staff off the stuff.bentstrider83 Thanks this.
