Anyone remember P.I.E. besides me. My Grandfather retired from them in the early 70's.

Black W900.....Use to work for M.Bruenger, out of Witchita. They're still running. I remember the day I got fired, Dec 8th, 1980....The day John Lennon was shot. Heard it on the news in my 4 wheeler driving out of town. Incedentaly, Bray lines sent me over to Bruenger, since they had a no re-hire policy more than 2 times! Bruenger hired 100 drivers to expand, then decided a month later that was a mistake and fired them.

Oh yes...I remember Driven To Insanity...never knew they had a yard 30 miles from home until I started driving for them. I remember right before Swift bought them out when the guards at the Moosic yard had a list of trailers that were not allowed on the property because they might be siezed by the county sheriff. Apparently someone had a lien on them. I also remember a recruiter telling a potential hire "You have a warrant out for your arrest? Well hot dog! We better get you in a truck and on the road so's you don't get picked up!"
Lori Patton and Dan Trudell were by far the two best dispatchers I had there (and I must have had six in as many months). I won't mention the names of the worst. I'd run out of space!

Not only do I remember Schneider Transport, but I remember when they had the short highway bumpers on their 4070B's and they were the fastest on hwy 41 in Wisconsin!! That was even before I started driving, but I remember riding with my Dad and hearing him say, "time to get out of the hammerlane, here comes a pumpkin!!" When pumpkin would pass us, all you'd hear was turbo, and the right front upper corner of the trailer was BLACK!!

A little like when Kroger Grocery here in Texas. One day you look up and subcontractors are under the trailers.
