I work for a company and one of there employees caused over 4000 dollars worth of damage to my truck and caused me to miss 2 weeks of work. Here is how it works, if you have damages to anything by an employee of any shipper or receiver, you have to inform their management of the damages immediately, have them document it and have the deal with THEIR insurance company.
If they say no, and tell you to piss off, then that's where you need a lawyer immediately involved to fix the problem.
AND either way, no matter what, DOCUMENT everything, the names of the people you talk to, WHEN YOU TALKED TO THEM and what they said, You takephotos of EVERYTHING like the location of the truck, the damage and even what damaged the truck. ALL OF THIS MATTERS FOR YOU.
I wish some of you owners would engage with legal advisors and lawyers before something happens, legal services is one way to do it, because when something like this happens, you need to have someone covering your back, even if you spend a few grand a year on it, you won't be asking for help.Siinman Thanks this. -
And if you dont have insurance, then you just experienced what I call "a life lesson"...
