What's your Team DRIVER schedule?

When we did it, for over a year it worked well 6-6. We did 12 hour shifts. If it’s your shift you can’t go in the sleeper so the second driver gets great sleep.

 

i’ve always found this to be the best method. Either 6-6 or 7-7, but running 12hr shifts just kept it simple.

 

Did Praxair team for a year in 2012.
We did 10 hour shifts.
Worked good because all that wasn't driving and included delivery stops, fuel and showers.

 

We tried 10 hour shifts but it was exhausting! For 6 years we have had a 230a-230p and a 2:30p-230a shift.

This allows each driver to have day and night driving time. The night driver can get into a deep sleep before the sun is completely up.

We are off weekends and we have no problems flexing our sleep time at home to get more done together and enjoy vacations together. It's fairly easy to get back to our set schedule on the truck.

 

We did 10 and 10 because then the other guy would always have a full clock, and the other guy didn't like nights so it basically worked out that I would work 3 nights and he would work two.

Don't know if you've ever run team before but you always must remember that another guy's life is in your hands so you drive gently and use greater caution.
Also, if it's bad there's no shame in stopping. You are still being paid.
