More like a modern temporary solution for a modern temporary problem if you know about who you quoted.
-
I've been following him for a long time.
It looks the modern temporary problem is
lack of capital. -
Could be. Or the lack of availability for an immediate and suitable replacement unit at an acceptable price. Or a low risk way to sample living with a modern emissions equipped truck. Sometimes jumping to conclusions can be disingenuous.Blue jeans, ducnut, larry2903 and 12 others Thank this.

I am afraid that you're are crossing the line with these presumptions and by wanting to know personalized specifics of a member's business.
That's not a gentleman's manner.
Some people may offer some info but it should only be up to them to do so, and sensing that a member doesn't want to talk about it should not be that difficult.
If I lost my truck tomorrow, I'd not exclude possibility to do nothing for an extended period of time, or do something completely else.
There's still a waiting period for a new truck and spending money on inframe or outframe, or even another engine, may not be the best solution at all.
Perhaps waiting on those 3-4 year old truck to come down on a price in a few months is better.
Irregardless, it is not uncommon for a solo owner operator to go do some work as a company driver during the time of resolving the issue, and if that owner operator is able to procure a truck on temporary basis to continue his operations that's even better. -
When you talk new vs old truck numbers matter. A lot.
I have no problems if a member doesn't like to share
such info. But then not much is left out to argue about it.
Probably you missed the part when he mentioned
not having enough money in the bank to fix the old truck.Last edited: Dec 7, 2022

I'm not here to argue with you about new versus old but yeah that's exactly what happened to me. I just need to save cash and start over. No different from how I started out way back when and I've paid for a lot of stuff with my truck over the years. I'm still a contract driver and don't get told what to do or where to go so there's at least still that.

Man, are you trying to insult him or something?
-
No, I'm just disappointed. I was expecting him
to be in a much better financial shape than he is
today. -
He’s just wanting to pick a scab, to make it bleed. Not the most classy thing to do.
You know, one truck operation that is leased on… Things didn’t go well…Nothing wrong with temporarily ceasing the way you do business. Consolidate, take another look at things, bring it in, circle the wagons…whatever and come up with a game plan. Little guy or corporate boards, are doing it now. That’s part of business.ducnut, rollin coal, gentleroger and 9 others Thank this.
