    hello, i have a driver in Dallas at the office depot warehouse, driver was an hour late cause of multiple accidents, ( I know it is not good to have excuses) but the warehouse is saying they wont unload him now till next week which is unacceptable.
    any one deal with this before do we have any options?
    Thank you!

    Find out who the go to guy is in the warehouse. Doesn’t necessarily mean the top dog or the big boss. Maybe the guy running the crews right out on the dock. Slip the guy $200, Act respectful about it, shake his hand and you’ll be unloaded in 90 minutes or less. He’ll pick some truck driver that he doesn’t like and stick you in his slot and make that guy wait. And you can get on with your life.

    That's right. The above posts suggested an effective medicament to such tough situations...lol

    So, again, you can do the following;
    1. Ask them politely.
    2. Beg them like a pussy.
    3. Bribe them like a man and shed no tear.
    4. Wait until next week and get over it.

    Mark it as refused and take it back to the shipper.

    If the greasing of palms doesn't work, get the driver a hotel room and pay him $200 a day while he waits.

    I just don't get these new fleet operators, they need to tell the receiver that it is considered refused unless it is unloaded within an hour or it is going back.

    We do this often.

    I told my drivers don't waste time waiting, tell them you have other customers to service so if they want to complain, give them the office number and talk to any one who answers - they will tell the receiver the same thing, if there is no action on unloading the truck, it goes back.

    Why does the shipper have to take back the product that was already sold and shipped and the problem only derives from a carrier's failure to deliver?
    I should think that it is only between the carrier and the receiver at this juncture.
    The shipper may cooperate and consent to receive it back but why would they agree to accept costs if they did not want to?

    JoeyJunk Thanks this.
