Suggestions for new driver?

Doubt they have truck parking, but you can ask. Might have to park at a nearby truckstop.
What it is for, a trucker has a legal address and a legal address for your CDL. It's a good deal for truckers that don't want to own or rent a home or apartment.
Your legal address would be in Livingston, Texas.
This means you're in the hiring area for Danny Herman and no longer have to pay state income taxes.

Just an FYI. South Dakota is easier than both of those states.

You're right though, South Dakota is simple and also no state income taxes.

 

I rent motel room for time off. Even lived in truck for over a year. Put stuff in storage and park car at whetever terminal your based out of.....

 

I missed that part. I know a lot of those full time RVers have SD registration and say it’s fast and legal to get residence there.

Several drivers on this forum did that in South Dakota.
I met one guy that had been living in his truck for 7 years and banking his money. He used an RV park for an address and mail forwarding.

Some drivers do that and buy a retirement home overseas. Go there on vacations and eventually permanently when they retire.
