Nice!!

My grandpops was on the USS Texas battleship, "the last dreadnought". The Tex saw battle shelling Omaha beach on D Day, then later in 1944 moved to the Pacific theater where she finished out the war..
Luckily for me, the Texas brought him home in one piece..

We, the unwilling
Working for the unknowing
Have been doing so much
With so little
For so long
That now we can do anything
With nothing

I need to build some equipment shelters for the place here, cold and snowy so good time to buzz some together in the shop. Get on CL and look for a gob of drill stem to get started.....not one listing....oh yeah, we don't do that here anymore. Maybe I can weld together solar panels into a shed and be all eco friendly. Or something.
I need one of those "I Did That!" stickers. -
I seen a few documentaries on the USS Texas. Very interesting.
I can not recall what boat my family members were on. My dad's stepfather then was at Normandy. My mother father was a Iwo Jima. He was a Seabee. Mom has a ton of letters he sent home to grandma. They had no combat training, no guns. Described the letters having to dig fox holes and wait for them to run over top and pull them down and stab them to death to defend themselves. That haunted him the rest of his life.
We can't get 18 yeaold boys to mow the lawns anymore.Last edited: Dec 14, 2022

I've been looking a my fenders and seeing I need an update soon. I've got fleet engineering on now...not that there's anything wrong with them just wondering if there's anything better. Do ya like those? I can walk on mine but was thinking there's something better maybe. Never heard of your brand..exhausted379, Flint1, cke and 5 others Thank this.

Jesus Christ, that sounds horrific..

And your correct, they were just kids.
He only had to deal with the stray kamikaze here & there. Nothing as brutal as what you describe on Iwo Jima. He was on something called "the sea wiz".? Think it was small artillery anti aircraft guns, but still aboard the relative saftey of a battleship..
That's grandpa at 16 year old outside the apartment in Hoboken, NJ.. Course they all lied about their age back then to serve early.. lol
Me & him round 2002? I'd a been 18-19yrs. No clue why I have a rope around my neck..? Lmao

I don't think solar panels would cut it fer a shed. They're so flippin flimsy you couldn't weld em up. You'd need wire, zip ties and duct tape to keep it together. I got connections for reject solar panels if your still interested. LolFlint1, cke, jamespmack and 9 others Thank this.
