3rd quarter was dropping. Hauled 5 loads. Came back empty each time.
Hauled crushed cars in November. Lawton, OK to Durant, OK back and forth.
EGR valve quit. & Started New Insurance. Put me back to $0.00. If I survive
till 2023. I will shut down after 8yrs. The Brokers are doing great though.

I've noticed a slight uptick in dry van rates the past few weeks. $3 from TX to LA, only $2 from LA to IA, but almost $3 from IA to NC, about to pick up a load from SC to AL at almost $3.
All these under 15k lb too, and not holiday freight. -

I think it’ll probably be at least another 2 years or so before anything really gets better

Welding is one thing I wish I could pick up, I always end up spending twice as long grinding it all back down and paying someone else to do it anyway…77fib77 Thanks this.

I opted out of renewing my Collision & Comprehensive insurance today, just couldn't afford it anymore. Not that I was willing to use it for anything less than a total wreck, anyway.
BTW, this site lists DAT basic freight rate data (without having to pay): Current Freight Rates - December 2022 -
Rates were definitely higher the last couple weeks, starting to go back down a little bit but still seem higher than they were at the beginning of December

I would be wary of drawing any conclusions based on any single month to month without consulting past years. Theres a normal mid jan dip in rates, this is the new year high because fewer people are back working just yet
