The rubber plugs are a good idea. BUT! Get the drain tubes replaced with the ones that are flattened and has the end that is folded but will let water flow through them and keep cold air from flowing out. They slide on to the tube coming out of the trailer and are about 6" long which is a good deal if you have a "wet" meat load and blood and water starts to leak the tube lets the stuff drain out and the air out.

I just called my local Utility Trailer shop and they cost $2.40 a peace but the clamps are extra!

Seeing how your boss owns only 6 trucks him to buy them for all 6 of the trailers. The money he saves from not cooling the air under the trailer will pay for themselves! Not to mention the loss of a load if the USDA Inspector walks the trailer before loading and he sees daylight coming through the drains. The expense of the drain tubes is not a waste!

Just be sure that the trailers he owns have that type of drain.
