Forgive me. I should have been more clear. I have been around many Hydronic heaters. Mostly ESPARs. I am amazed to hear that they have been reliable for you guys. I have had nothing but bad luck with them. Maybe the environments that my equipment are in are dirtier than most. Ive switched to Webastos and they have not failed me yet.
I am not just talking about one or two Espars...more like 30.
I said that I was not around cab heaters. Those are the opposite of the block heaters. Make sense?
Anyone installed the Espar coolant and/or cab heaters?

I know this is an old thread, but I have been using a Snugger heating unit that has been working great for me the last two seasons. Got it through SleeperAC for 400 less than what I found espar and webasto and can't complain.
Was wondering if anyone else has found this brand or has any complaints? -
If you are in the northwest at all I'm your man. I can install both the air and coolant heaters. I have just over 4yrs experiance with these heaters, namely the Espar brand. the air heater takes about 3 hrs to install and the coolant heater about 4.5 to 5. if interested email me... use my user name @yahoo and I'll get back to you.
michaelg Thanks this. -
Last year I was quoted $1200 by thermoking to install an Espar bunk only heater.

I used D3L Compact. Good for mid size sleeper.

I do have Webasto (one for cab one for engine) and I'm very please with the one for engine. Is doing a great job in the winter.
The one for cab I just replace the blower (461$ CAD) after 3 years of use. I don't know if is good or bad but this is a fact.
When is working(like right now) the Webasto in the cab is a such help. I love it. -
I have the Espar engine heater and love it.Its going on its 3rd winter season, and no problems.I installed myself took about 4hrs and must be plumbed in correctly.I also have a winter front for the truck that completely closes up,and i close before i go to bed # night to keep the heat in.It was 3f the other night and it will bring the coolant temp up to 160f when running for 2hrs.I have the webasto bunk heater 2000st and i just replaced the burner glow plug in it.Expect to change the bunk heater burner glow plug every 3 years or so.cost me $350 do fix myself. Not sure about the bunk heaters with espar, but i heard the seem to last longer, and the webasto are almost 300 bucks more.
