1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

    YungTrucker,

Without having a peeing contest about it --here's what to try.

You've stated that as a newbie, you've had 2 jobs in the last year. So, you've already had your SECOND chance.
Now start going to the smaller, and YES the crummier companies. That is almost your last chance for staying a truck driver. Didn't mean to offend anybody by posting some less than happy news................ GOOD LUCK Driver !!!!!

3 jobs in 3 years? I've had 4 (and 1 orientation) different driving jobs in 3 years. And still had my choice of several (less than great more than crappy) companies. But I also applied at hundreds of them.

No it was good advice jtrnr. Like me, yung trucker is going to have to bite the bullet. Take the best job available, without letting too much of a "recent experience" gap go by, and HOLD ON FOR LIFE. It sucks when you're trying to support a family and not making the $ needed, but if only we'd all treated those first precious trucking jobs, no matter how crappy, like going to college. Expensive, may not pay a dime, may have to be away from home longer periods than desired, and have to take a lot of crap from superiors. BUT the experience, and proven responsibility, self-discipline & gained knowledge will lead to a much better job with better pay more down time and more self-respect.

If only if only if only...I'm haunted every day by poor decisions I've made with my "starter" companies. Now, if only I could prevent others, and myself (with my newest "last" job), from taking the longest possible route from A to B.

    I wish you luck.

    jtrnr1951 Thanks this.
