    A potential employer are not allowed to ask much about a potential hire outside of their dates of employment and what job they did, with their previous company...unless they want to be opened up to a potential defamation lawsuit.

    on the flip side, there’s no shortage of idiot owners out there either, “that moron driver just flipped my truck after a tire blew, I just capped that 6 year old double coin that was on that side so he must be an idiot”

    Yeah, that's mostly true. But if I call a previous employer and ask if they'd rehire the driver and his response is hysterical laughter followed by "Not even in a parallel universe" I figure I should take a little closer look at my applicant. ;)
