Any info on this company? I live in maryland and want to run the south east region. I just got my cdl last week. Is this a good company for new school graduates?

It is or at least it was. They were bought out by Covenant. Not sure how they will be when all the changes come around. I got in almost every weekend as most of their drivers do. Sometimes I was out 2 weeks before I got in. They run a lot of freight up in the North East.

I forgot to add that I see you want to run the SE. They hire out of certain areas, but I ran about 22 States with them.

how do they treat their drivers? I spoke to a recruiter and he told me that i could be home almost every weekend. I have a brother in orlando fl and running the SE would be convinient for me. Are you allowed to choose the kind of truck to have?

When I was there they had a few Petes. Mostly Freightshakers and Volvo's. You get to choose from the last 2. They treat their drivers good. I have a driver that calls me from time to time. I helped him pick out a company when he got out of school. I met him and his wife when we were on vacation last summer. He likes them and runs pretty steady from NJ to GA. His Dad lives in FL and he gets to see him every now and then.

I would love to be in one of those volvos. Am basically looking for a good starter company that treats its drivers with respects and has plenty of miles to dish out. I have an uncle that works for gainey and wants me to go and team up with him. I`ve heard bad things about gainey and want to stay away from them. Am also considering anderson transport out of st cloud mn. Thanx for the info.

I graduate from school on Feb 22nd and I am to begin orientation with Star in Nashville on March 5. My school is Tenn Technology Center in Shelbyville. I have talked to several Blue Star drivers and they have all given me good feedback.

I was hired by Star Transportation and I did 8 days on the road with a trainer and I was not empressed to say the least. 3 showers in 8 days and trying to sleep in a moving or stopped truck with the engine running. Eating fast food all day long, dealing with the traffic in rush hour through Atlanta was a nightmare. Waiting for hours on end to get loaded or unloaded. This was not my idea of a good time. I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I decided to become a truck driver. I think I need my head examined. Going to look for work local so I can be home everynight.
