Injectors failed and needed replacement (with cups, all 6) at 170,000miles. 4350 engine hours. $11,000 bill. Anyway, blaming this on low quality dry fuel, will be using conditioner going forward. Took truck in with complaint being frequent regens and heavy DEF use.

I didn’t buy extended warranty, repairs needed to date:
-EGR cooler replaced (was losing coolant)
    -Fan belt tensioner replaced
    -Alternator belt tensioner replaced
-wiper motor replaced, going bad again
    -DEF pump
-one exhaust valve broke in half

Over $30,000 out of warranty so far (should have bought extended, was $5000 at the time of truck purchase for 60 month). D13 500hp

Yep I have the same motor but also bought the extended warranty. Went through that stuff last truck and will always pay up front and get the extended warranty then trade and buy new again before it is up.

That’s a terrible ownership experience and the worst I’ve heard of with a Volvo.

Why anyone would not pay for that extended warranty is beyond me. One Emissions problem on a truck will pay for itself. Same with cups and injectors issues. Just best to get it and move on.

    nikmirbre and ducnut Thank this.

Live and learn. I knew the truck was going to be low use when I bought it and didn't expect that much trouble in such a short amount of hours/kms.

Do you idle the truck much?

No not all, never overnight. Just pull heavy all the time (super B). Change oil every 250hrs, well taken care of.

    Siinman Thanks this.
