There are several companies willing to hire drivers in this situation.

Yes, I know that this is an old thread. I am bumping it because there are people out there looking for an opportunity and may think there is no chance for them.

I am a registered sex offender. I have been driving OTR for the same company for over a year. My crime is closing in on 20 years old. I am also off parole. Finding this company was not easy.

If anyone needs help finding a company that is willing to hire felons with violent backgrounds, DM me and I will provide a list of companies that I know for a fact are willing to give felons a chance.

You pulled this thread out of the depths of hell to say that?

Why would not have have just started your own thread. This thread is nothing but bickering by a bunch of know it alls trying to prove their crap stinks less than the the other guys.

7 pages with less than a dozen useful posts.

I found the thread through a Google search. The topic of the thread is what I wanted to provide a comment on. It was easier to respond to an already established topic than to type out my own beginning thread to setup and frame the topic. I have no idea why resurrecting an old thread bothers you. It still bears relevance, so I think this is something that you just need to get over.

Starting my own thread would have brought out the same responses from the type of people who have responded in this thread already.

Start a new thread and make your list of potential employers an integral part of it. Post it in the Questions From New Drivers section .Don't ask for or accept referrals and don't actively recruit employees for any of the companies you list.
Be aware that most people on here don't like sex offenders. You've probably dealt with people like that already so get your coping tools ready and keep your cool.

Thanks for this feedback. I totally understand where people are coming from when they deep-seated hatred for sex offenders comes out. When it's directed at me, I diffuse, when possible. When not possible, I ignore and move on. Not my job to try to change a person's mind. If they are willing to look past my past, then I allow them to see that people can, and sometimes do, change.

As for posting a list, I will respectfully decline doing so because I don't think any company wants to be publicly advertised as being "sex offender friendly." If someone is need of help regarding this topic and has searched online, this thread will likely pop up. I have openly invited those looking for companies willing to give sex offenders a chance to DM me.

Okay, but the same rules about referrals and recruiting still apply. Just because you're using DMs to communicate doesn't change the requirements.

No problem. I will not be seeking referrals of any kind, so no worries. Just wanting to provide information to those who may come seeking it.

I read an article last year about trailer parks that specialize in renting to sex offenders
Turns out its very lucrative because those guys cant ever find housing at any cost. The trailer park owner can basically charge any rate for a broken down hovel because the pervs have no place else to go.
I wonder if the same can be said for the trucking companies being talked about ITT
If a mans got no place else to go , he might pull for 30cpm and never complain no matter how bad conditions are

    Makes you think

Not everyone's experience is the same, but I will say that I live in a regular house with a mortgage. Back when I was still on parole, it was much harder.

As to the companies about which I specifically know will hire sex offenders, they are not shady companies looking to hire drivers on the cheap. Every one of the companies about which I have personal knowledge in going through the application process with that are willing to hire sex offenders all pay a minimum of $.40/mile to drivers with no experience. Myself, I am running OTR and making $.48/mile. On loads going to and coming from any east coast state, which includes the entirety of PA, NY, NJ, MD, VA, VT, NH, ME, CT, MA, RI (and hopefully not forgetting any states), I make $.60/mile. That's $.60/mile for all miles of those loads. I am not trying to pitch my company at all, which is one reason why I keep mum about it. I am just sharing my personal experience that good, solid companies exist that are willing to consider giving sex offenders a chance. Will those companies give every applicant with a sex offense conviction a chance? Obviously not. There are a lot of variables that go into it.
